After meeting Blake and Amanda for their sweet engagement session at the nature preserve, it was no surprise that their wedding was an experience rife with emotion as a celebration of their adoration for one another.
Everyone knows that the most delicious parts of a wedding are in the details and Blake and Amanda’s day was chock full of them. Not just unique, sparkling details (they had those too); details that have a deeper meaning that just shake an unsuspecting onlooker up, a bit.
But first, the unique and sparkling! This sharp-looking couple used ivory and shades of purple to accent their special day. Blake truly dazzled with his paisley tie and suit, coordinated on his own, and perfectly complemented Amanda’s stunning sweetheart neckline, rouched-waist gown and jeweled belt.
The church where they said their “I dos” is the exact same where Blake’s parents said theirs which is just about the most romantic thing you could do! The pastor who married Blake and Amanda had known them for years. Amanda’s beautiful bouquet boasted a pendant that her grandfather gave to her grandmother over 50 years ago. Believe it or not, the details get even sweeter.
A very special little lady, Amanda’s neice, helped with the wedding celebrations. Little Miss Alexis is Amber’s daughter (Amber is Amanda’s sister). Alexis and Amanda both carried a part of someone in their dress pockets. For Amanda, it was her something blue but so much more. Each pocket contained tiny blue heart sewn into it, made from a shirt that belonged to Alexis’ dad, Chad, who passed away. They thought it was such a wonderful way to have him with them on that special occasion.
Amanda also remembered him with her “something borrowed” by wearing the veil that Amber wore when she married Chad. It was such a sweet testament to the person they lost who was loved by so many and missed often.
For Amanda and Blake, there was no question as to whether their wedding day would pay homage to the bonds made and strengthened by their family’s love for each other. We don’t think there’s a better way to step into your own marriage than celebrating the people you adore. Congratulations, Blake and Amanda!
